Imagine Capital Campaign

Imagine

An effort to touch more people, connect more people to faith, and serve Christ.

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has
imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."
1 Corinthians 2:9

This is the time for the people of St. Mark’s to imagine and to believe!
This is the time to take action to move the mission forward!
This is the time to claim all that God has in mind for those who love him!

Imagine . . . Lives Transformed by God’s Grace!
St. Mark’s members can imagine because they have seen how God has worked in the past, reaching out through this congregation to those who have not heard the good news of Jesus Christ. Learn more about the difference St. Mark’s and a life with Jesus Christ has made in the lives of some of our partners as they share their faith journeys.

We can only imagine the future God has in store for us as we are faithful to use the gifts God has given us for the building of his kingdom. God has given us an amazing vision which can only be accomplished by God’s power!

For a snapshot view of the campaign, please
take a moment to breathe deep,
     clear your mind,
put on your forward-thinking, Christ-centered thinking cap
     and read on . . .

The time is NOW!

The time is for the campaign is NOW. In order to meet present needs and our future goals, St. Mark’s desperately needs more space.

Debt is down. Our previous capital campaign, First Things First, helped us reduce our debt from approximately $2.1 million to about $500,000 by fall 2009. This fiscally responsible effort has placed us in a solid financial position to move forward with our expansion.

Space needs are up. We are reaching more youth and children, we have more staff members, and our 9:45 worship space is busting at the seams during the school year. We have an ever-increasing need for more space for music, study, fellowship, meetings, and activities throughout the week.

The plans are taking shape
The Good News is we have beautiful plans ready to meet our space needs. These plans include:
·   An expanded worship center that seats 1,050-1,200.
·   Nearly twice as much classroom space for children, youth and adult education.
·   A larger practice and instrument facility for music ministries.
·   A doubled fellowship center that could include a full-time coffee shop, a bookstore and more space for larger hospitality events, receptions and meetings.
·   A kitchen, double the current size, to serve more people.
·   Expanded office space for a growing ministry staff.

  • A building project of $9.75 million will meet our immediate and projected ministry needs.  Ultimately, however, the scope of the project will be determined by the generosity of our members.
  • We hope to begin moving dirt in the Spring 2009, with a goal of completion as early as fall of 2010.
Questions?
We know many of you will have questions. Please follow this link to a prepared FAQ reference site with answers to the questions we have most frequently received. If you have questions that are not covered in the FAQ, please e-mail your questions to us, and a campaign staff member will be happy to talk with you.

“They gave voluntarily according to their means, and even beyond their
means, begging us earnestly for the privilege of sharing in this ministry
to the saints…Now as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech,
in knowledge, in utmost eagerness, and in our love for you –
so we want you to excel also in this generous undertaking.”
1 Corinthians 8: 3-4, 7

People of faith are called to a lifelong journey of growing generosity. The flood of 2008 and the downturn in the economy can threaten our feelings of security. However, trusting in a God of abundance is at the heart of our faith.

Ultimately your level of giving is between you and your Lord. We pray that you will take time to honestly evaluate all your God-provided abundance, trust in the promises of a loving and benevolent God, pray earnestly, and then determine your response with resourceful faithfulness, joy and celebration!

Imagine. . .yourself making an investment in the future spiritual and physical growth of St. Mark’s Faith & Life Center.
