Offered at 9:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Center
We'll begin our Fall 2010 session by reflecting on our new sermon series called Do Something!, six weeks designed to help us as a congregation make an impact on our community. Ephesians 3:20-21 says: "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." As a church it is to God's glory that we use our gifts, skills, and passions in order to love and reach out to others.
If you're not in a small group, this is your opportunity to hear from Miles McPherson, former NFL defensive back for the San Diego Chargers and now pastor of "The Rock," a church worshipping 10,000 every Sunday in San Diego. Miles is engaging, humorous, and captivating as he speaks of God's perspective on life and our brokenness. . . and how God can use that for His purposes.
Please join us each week as we hear God's vision to Do Something in us and through us. We encourage you to read along in the book by the same title and discover story after story of changed lives and transformed hearts that have become useful in God's kingdom. (Books are currently available in the Fellowship Center.) Begin praying now that God will Do Something amazing in our community. Invite someone to worship and reflect with you as we seek to reach out with the love of Christ.
Of course, we'll save some time to discuss our observations and perceptions with one another. And you're always free to walk over and get another donut or fresh cup of coffee along the way. All are welcome to attend!
