Welcome to St. Mark's Faith & Life Center. We are glad you have chosen to worship with us and trust it has been an uplifting experience for you. If you are interested in learning more about St. Mark's, we invite you to come to our informal sessions called Welcome to St. Mark's.
In these sessions, you will
- meet our pastors;
- learn about our core beliefs; and
- discover opportunities to be involved in our mission and our various ministries.
Our Welcome to St. Mark's sessions take place either on two Tuesday evenings or one Saturday morning (8:00 am to 12:30 pm). To register, contact Marlys Fruhling at (319-447-0100 x16 or mfruhling@faith-life.org) or mark Code "N" on the Fellowship Pad during worship. Child care is available with advance notice to the church office.
For those desiring to join our congregation after completing both the Welcome to St. Mark's sessions and the Alpha Course, they will be received as new partners (members) in ministry at St. Mark's during any one of three Sunday morning services following completion of these sessions.
Partnership Covenant
Every individual who joins the St. Mark's family is asked to sign a "Partnership Covenant." This covenant is an agreement for how we as partners in this ministry will covenant to grow during this year. We re-commit to this covenant each fall. The covenant includes personal commitments in the following "marks of discipleship."
- Regular Weekly Worship Attendance
- Daily Prayer and Bible Reading
- Serving Others by Sharing our Time and Abilities
- Giving Generously of our Financial Resources
- Sharing our Faith with Friends, Neighbors, & Co-workers
- Growth through Small Groups & Classes
We believe that following the marks of discipleship allows the Holy Spirit to cause spiritual growth in the lives of believers in Christ. In each of the areas of discipleship we covenant to grow in our commitment.
